It starts with a chocolate ganache made in the microwave and poured into a graham cracker crust. After refrigerating for a couple of hours, it is topped with marshmallows and placed under the broiler for a campfire-like finish.

Graham Cracker Crust forms the pie’s base and complements the filling’s sweetness.

Chocolate Chips provide the chocolate flavor and are melted with the heavy cream to create a rich chocolate ganache filling.

Heavy Cream is used to create the chocolate ganache filling. When heated with chocolate chips, the cream emulsifies the cocoa butter in the chocolate, resulting in a silky and rich texture.

Marshmallows add marshmallow flavor and texture to the pie. They are used as a topping that is toasted for a caramelized and gooey texture, replicating the campfire experience of a S’more.

Why You’ll Like Making S’mores Pie

Easy to make: S’mores pie is a relatively simple dessert to prepare. The graham cracker crust is store-bought. Melting chocolate chips in the microwave is quick and convenient.

Nostalgia and familiarity: S’mores pie captures the essence of a classic campfire treat – the combination of chocolate, graham crackers, and marshmallows. It brings back happy memories for many people.

Frequently Asked Questions

My melted chocolate keeps seizing up, what can I do? This can happen if the chocolate is overheated or if water gets in. Make sure your bowl and utensils are completely dry before melting the chocolate. Heat it in short bursts in the microwave, stirring frequently, until just melted.

Can I melt the chocolate on the stove instead? If you’re worried about burning the chocolate in the microwave, you can melt it in a double boiler over simmering water.

How do I cut the pie cleanly? Dip your knife in hot water and wipe it clean between cuts. This will help prevent the marshmallow topping from sticking.

How long does this pie last? The pie can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Substitutions and Variations

Chocolate bar: Instead of melting chocolate chips, use chopped milk chocolate or dark chocolate.

Marshmallow fluff: For a smoother texture, use marshmallow fluff instead of whole marshmallows.

Spiked S’mores: Add a splash of your favorite liquor, like Baileys or Kahlua, to the chocolate filling for an adult-friendly twist.

Peanut butter cup surprise: Swirl some peanut butter into the chocolate filling or add chopped peanut butter cups for a peanut butter s’mores flavor.

Other mix-ins: Add chopped nuts, chopped candy bars, or even sprinkles for extra flavor and texture.

What to Serve with S’mores Pie

Whipped Cream: Another simple option that adds a touch of sweetness and lightness.

Fresh Berries: A refreshing contrast to the chocolate and marshmallow flavors. Strawberries, raspberries, or blueberries would all be delicious.

Coffee and Tea are often served with dessert in the evening.
